Satanic Sonnet #1
My greatest master, tyrant; Lord of hell!
Play on your fiery harp the song of doom,
Illuminate the days with splendid gloom
And hear my praises, Great One, hear them well!
Of your disgracéd glory I shall tell,
Your endless love that lives within the tomb,
Your crimson hearth that heats the humble room
Where once I'll live with you, who once first fell!
But no great witness bear my words to your,
The most magnificent's of all impure
And wretched souls exalting fame;
My feeble voice won't without pain endure
These praises and will fail at times, for sure,
With awe when I shout "Hallowed Be Thy Name!"
Satanic Sonnet #2
You rule the earth with cruel and ruthless power,
You hold its edges in your blackened claws;
If on the dirt you spit, the dirt redraws;
You kill the whale, the rabbit and the flower.
Your gaze upon a lake will turn it sour;
The dog that walks your path will burn its paws;
And by a million ill and basest flaws
You raise the pain of Mind with every hour.
Yet misery is nought but hell's delight,
And all your Saints look best in darkest night;
Thus all the demons revel underneath
When God's creation and his men you fight,
The wives all tear apart, the husbands smite
And never let your sword rest in the sheath!
